Young working couple Abi and James don’t have time or inclination to clean and maintain a big house. They are busy starting their careers and say that their beautiful tiny home is all that they need for the 2 of them. James is a harbour administrator and Abi works at a deli in nearby Clevedon.
Their Unit2go Tiny House gives them a surprisingly high quality of living for their stage of life. They moved into their tiny house about 10 months ago and are so happy that they say they are here to stay. They moved from another similar transportable home in Maraetai but that one was too small, was cold and not nearly the same level of quality.
Their new home has ranch sliders out onto a spacious deck that they love – this and their views out to Waiheke are their favourite aspect. It has an open living area, two bedrooms and a double garage. It is a “perfect layout for the footprint, the way you’ve got the bedrooms off to the side, with a hallway separating them is ideal. It’s a good design with heaps of bench space in the kitchen. The interior timber walls are great, it feels trendy – even quite styley,” says James. They find it very warm and cosy with double glazed windows, and like the small power bills! They feel it is solid and built to last.
The price is right.
Abi and James couldn’t think of anything they would change in their tiny home other than possibly adding more storage but it’s not a problem. Abi says; “It feels like the right level for the money. The price is really good for what you get. You would pay more for less elsewhere.”
Abi describes it very much as ‘home’ now with their pictures hanging on the walls and lovely new furniture and bedding making it their own. They’ve also just got a new outdoor lounge suite so they love being able to sit outside on the beautiful deck with the sun hitting the house all day. They can sit out there for hours relaxing after a day at work enjoying the views. Living the dream!
They say it’s an amazing house to bring you together and it’s really good compared to others on the market. Their experience with Unit2go has been smooth, according to James, it was very easy with no problems. They highly recommend both the tiny house concept and particularly Unit2go to others looking for a great home to get started living together.
